Who we are

MyPollenIQ is a pollen tracking website. We provide live pollen count data and allergy forecasts for cities across the USA and Canada. Our website address is mypolleniq.com.

What information we collect

Information you give us directly

When you sign up for pollen alerts, we collect your email address and the city or postal code you want alerts for. We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment information. You are never required to create an account to use the pollen tracker.

Information collected automatically

When you visit mypolleniq.com, our hosting provider and analytics tools may collect standard server log data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time of visit. We use this data to understand how the site is used and to improve it. We do not use this data to identify you personally.

Location data

When you enter a ZIP code or postal code into the pollen tracker, that code is sent to our server to retrieve pollen data for your area. We do not store your location searches beyond the session. We do not track your physical location via GPS or device location services.

Cookies

MyPollenIQ uses cookies to make the site function correctly. A cookie is a small file stored in your browser. We use strictly necessary cookies to remember your country preference and session state. We also use analytics cookies to understand traffic patterns. You can manage cookie preferences via the cookie banner on your first visit.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver live pollen data in response to your ZIP or postal code search
  • Send daily pollen alert emails to subscribers who have opted in
  • Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
  • Diagnose technical problems

We do not sell your personal information to any third party. We do not use your information for advertising profiling.

Email alerts

If you sign up for pollen alerts, we will send you one email per day during active pollen season with the PollenIQ score for your chosen city. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any alert email or by emailing [email protected]. We will remove you from the list within 48 hours of your request.

We use a third-party email service provider to send alerts. Your email address is stored on their servers in accordance with their own privacy policy. We will identify that provider on this page once the service is active.

Third-party services

Google Maps Platform

We use Google’s Pollen API and Air Quality API to retrieve pollen and air quality data. When you perform a search, your ZIP or postal code is geocoded using Google’s Geocoding API. Google may process this data in accordance with its own privacy policy. API calls are made server-side from our servers. Your IP address is not passed to Google as part of these requests.

Amazon Associates

MyPollenIQ participates in the Amazon Associates affiliate program. When you click a product link on our site and make a purchase on Amazon, we may earn a small commission. Amazon may use cookies to track referrals. This does not affect the price you pay. Amazon’s data practices are governed by Amazon’s own privacy policy.

Analytics

We may use web analytics tools to understand site traffic. These tools may use cookies and collect anonymised data about how visitors use the site. We do not use analytics tools that build personal advertising profiles.

Data retention

Email addresses for alert subscribers are retained for as long as you remain subscribed. You can request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected].

Server log data is retained for a maximum of 90 days and then deleted automatically.

We do not retain ZIP code or postal code searches beyond the immediate session.
